VIRTUAL SUPPORT
Volunteer

The mission with Mall of Hope presently is to help Seniors who have been diagnosed with dementia and alzheimer's to be recognized for who they are as a person even as their memory may fade away in the health care industry. To not feel alienated in both their moments of lucidity as well as their moments of weakness. Simultaneously for seniors who are not suffering from this to also feel embraced for who they are where they came from. To not feel like they have no use in the community and forgotten by their families as well.

The Opportunity

This opportunity is majority to be done remotely and is a volunteer opportunity. In the future those who are helping now will have first dibs in a paid position later with the organization as we step out of volunteer only basis and into ability to support a small organizational staff base.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

This Opportunity is If

1. You enjoy hearing the stories of others and engaging with them.
2. You realize that Seniors have lost alot of their ties to family as well as community.
3. You acknowledge and respect the efforts they did in the improvement of your local community through the generations.

The Ordinary Day Would look Like

1. Contacting Senior Centers to see places willing to have us talk to their residents to provide interaction with those who are with or without memory issues. After all even those who are struggling with it the fact you interact with them will slow the progression down.

2. Helping to find Families who have loved one's suffering with Dementia and Alzheimer's and would like to help their caregivers better connect with their loved ones across the time a loved one has.

3. Contacting Organizations, Companies and Other Community Places to Help Acquire Donations

Benefits of Being a Volunteer

Every visit, call, or message you send reminds someone they matter and are not forgotten in their struggle.

You help build a connection that comforts people who often feel alone in their memory loss journey.

As the organization grows, you may be invited to take on leadership or paid support roles.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities

Engage with Senior Centers

Volunteers reach out to senior centers and help coordinate activities that are fun, simple, and memory-focused.

You bring energy, kindness, and creativity to brighten the day of someone in need of a smile.

Support Families and Caregivers

You’ll help families feel less alone by offering listening ears, emotional support, and helpful resources.

Understanding a patient’s past helps caregivers feel more connected and effective in their roles.

Coordinate Community Outreach

Volunteers help spread awareness through events, flyers, social media posts, or community presentations.

Your voice helps others understand the mission and how they can also get involved or donate.

Manage Donations and Resources

You’ll reach out to local businesses or supporters to gather supplies or funding for memory preservation programs.

Whether large or small, every contribution you help secure supports a memory that matters.
